The Power of Building Community Through Teamwork

Athletics at UMass Lowell offers many lessons for participants and supporters, including the importance of teamwork, dedication, perseverance and preparation. A vibrant, exciting athletics program builds community. For instance, the hockey team’s exciting run to the Hockey East finals in 2009 noticeably increased campus and alumni pride. Attendance at hockey games in the Tsongas Arena soared to an average of 4,600, and the momentum continues to build.

Gifts to the River Hawks Club support all 16 men’s and women’s varsity teams. The club funds scholarships needed to attract high-quality student-athletes.
