Description:

General Summary (Purpose) of Position
The University of Massachusetts Lowell is seeking to fill an Assistant/Associate Professor position in the Department of Chemical Engineering with a starting date of September 2009 or later.  The position requires quality teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and developing a strong externally-funded research program.  Although all relevant research fields will be considered, we are especially interested in candidates specializing in materials, energy, bioprocessing/biotechnology, or chemical processing and control.  A highly qualified candidate with an exceptional record of teaching and extramurally funded research will be considered for appointment.
Academic Year: Fall 2009
Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Earned Doctorate in a closely related field with one in Chemical Engineering.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness for teaching Chemical Engineering courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Significant recognition of teaching excellence, with innovative scholarly activity.
• Demonstrated record of research, secured grants and publication, with commitment to continued development and productive activity in scholarly research and publications.
• Demonstrated ability working with diverse student and faculty populations.
